A Matter of National Security was shot digitally using two Canon XL1s Cameras:

The audio was captured independently from the video using production-quality sound equipment and recorded both independently and simultaneously fed back into Camera A. The microphone used (see below) was the Sennheiser MKH-60 Shotgun Microphone, the mixer was a Mackie 1604 VLZ, and then the recording device was a laptop running DigiDesign's Pro Tools software, using DigiDesign's XLR cable to USB interface they call the Mbox.

The primary microphone used was the Sennheiser MKH-60 Shotgun Microphone:

and the Azden Corp SGM-2X Supercardioid Shotgun Microphone was used for some select folley and for the director/director of photography audio commentary that appears on the DVD discs currently only available to cast and crew:

In post-production, we used Bias's SoundSoap to clean up the audio further, even though the high-end MKH-60 recorded very cleanly.
